- Demonstrate an understanding of the key players (Andrew Jackson, Thomas Jefferson, Chief John Ross) in promoting these perspectives and how each of these key players supported their cause.
- Demonstrate an understanding events (including the Louisiana purchase, a growing belief of land entitlement by white Americans, and the quick growing population) that contributed to the change in US policy from assimilation to removal of American Indians and how these events contributed to this significant change in US policy.
- Analyze the long-term and short-term consequences of Indian removal.
- Demonstrate support of one of the perspectives using logic and reason to justify that perspective.
- Create a piece of art in remembrance and promoting acceptance of all cultures.
- Demonstrate how to evaluate websites as reliable sources of information.
